Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a significant dialogue with Young Liu, Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), on Wednesday. The focus of their discussion centered on India's promising prospects in futuristic sectors. Modi emphasized the remarkable opportunities that India presents in areas of advanced technology.

The meeting also covered Foxconn's ambitious investment strategies in Indian states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. In a post on X, Modi expressed his enthusiasm, stating, 'Wonderful to meet Mr. Young Liu, the Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn). I highlighted the wonderful opportunities India offers in futuristic sectors. We also had excellent discussions on their investment plans in India in states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.'

Foxconn, the world's largest electronics manufacturer, has been accelerating its expansion in India. Last year, the company announced plans to double its Indian workforce and investment. It has already signed investment agreements with the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments, worth Rs 5,000 crore. Foxconn's capabilities span electric vehicles, digital health, robotics, and other key technologies like AI and semiconductors. In 2023, Foxconn's revenue reached USD 198 billion, with R&D and manufacturing centers in countries including China, Japan, and the US.
