The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) launched the inaugural 'IACC-MSME Centre of Excellence' on Thursday at the KCG auditorium, i-HUB campus in Ahmedabad. The Centre was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who highlighted the pivotal role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Gujarat's robust economy.
'With 19.80 lakh registered MSMEs, they are the backbone of our economy,' said Patel. 'Guided by the Prime Minister, improvements in electricity, roads, and other ancillary services have made Gujarat a prime industrial hub. IACC's Centre will further fortify India-US industrial ties. We're committed to the growth of Gujarat's industries.'
Patel reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for Gujarat, underlined by the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, to offer a global platform to the state's industries. IACC President Pankaj Bahora emphasized the Centre's role in enhancing MSMEs' global market navigation and export capabilities.
This venture addresses challenges faced by Indian MSMEs and facilitates their access to the American market. 'The launch marks a significant move towards empowering MSMEs to seize opportunities in the US market,' said Bahora. Various MOUs with the National Skill Development Corporation and collaborations with the US Embassy underscore the initiative's ambition.
The launch event features a day-long Conference on MSMEs, focusing on export readiness, finance availability, and incentives. Industry leaders will share insights to help MSMEs tackle international trade complexities.
