The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of the entire share capital of Viterra by Bunge, according to an official statement. Upon completion, Bunge will obtain all issued and outstanding shares of Viterra. The primary shareholders of Viterra, including Glencore PLC, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI), are set to receive shares of Bunge.

Despite these shares, the primary shareholders will maintain only a minority stake post-transaction. Globally, Bunge operates mainly in the sale of oilseed meals and vegetable oils. The company also deals in grains and milled products, along with unprocessed oilseeds and other goods like sugar. In India, Bunge's offerings include refined vegetable oils, crude vegetable oils, soybean meal, glycerine, margarine, lecithin, vanaspati, shortenings, yeast, and free fatty acids.

As per Viterra's official website, the company maintains a global agriculture network, linking producers to consumers to supply sustainable, traceable, and quality-controlled agricultural products worldwide. Headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Viterra's operations span the full global supply chain, from farm to end user. The company leverages its diverse capabilities and experience to deliver innovative solutions that create value for customers.

Viterra invests in expanding its network to cater to the growing demands of the world. Owned by shareholders Glencore, CPP Investments, and BCI, Viterra specializes in the sale and purchase of unprocessed commodity crops, with an emphasis on grains and oilseeds internationally. The company also trades in raw products such as cotton and sugar, alongside processed goods derived from grains and oilseeds. In India, Viterra markets grains like wheat, corn, sorghum, and rice, as well as raw vegetable oils including soybean and sunflower oils.
