K-RIDE (Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Ltd), responsible for the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project, has announced a tender for the eagerly anticipated Corridor-1A. This corridor will connect the Bengaluru railway station to Yelahanka railway station.

The next phase will extend the route from Yelahanka to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), addressing the long-standing demand for better connectivity between Bengaluru City and KIA.

According to K-RIDE officials, the tender for Corridor-1A is valued at Rs 1,422 crore. The project encompasses the construction of stations and formation works for both at-grade and elevated sections spanning 17.63 kilometers.

The comprehensive tender package includes the design and construction of a 14.213 km elevated viaduct, a 3.417 km at-grade formation, seven station buildings, and a Railway Over Bridge. For the first time, the contract will be awarded to a single party, unlike previous projects divided into smaller tenders.

K-RIDE officials noted that lessons from ongoing works in Corridors-2 and Corridor-4 influenced this decision. They added that the Corridor-1A tender represents the highest investment in the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project to date.
