Mediawire New Delhi [India], July 25: Karnataka's Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, M. B. Patil, led a high-profile delegation to Japan for strategic investment discussions at Nidec Corporation's headquarters. The mission aimed to attract more investments to Karnataka and establish lasting business partnerships, promoting the state as a prime destination for global enterprises.

Nidec Corporation, a worldwide leader in electric motor technology and one of the biggest comprehensive motor manufacturers, holds significant influence in automotive, industrial, renewables, EV, and consumer electronics sectors. With over 50 years of history, Nidec continues to innovate across various industries. The delegation's meeting with Nidec executives concentrated on potential collaborations in electric motor technology and other sectors, with a focus on sustainability and advanced technological solutions. The team from Karnataka included notable government officials, highlighting the mission's significance.

Minister Patil emphasized Karnataka's robust industrial ecosystem, strategic location, and dedication to global businesses through supportive policies and infrastructure. Key topics were potential collaborations and strategic investments, leveraging Nidec's expertise to drive regional economic growth. A major discussion point was Nidec's Rs 500 Cr investment in Hubli-Dharwad for a state-of-the-art facility to manufacture various motors and generators, set to complete by 2025. Minister Patil reaffirmed support for all Nidec projects, ensuring comprehensive assistance.

Minister Patil also invited Nidec to the Global Investors Meet in Karnataka in 2025, providing a platform for further dialogue and networking. Participation in GIM is expected to pave the way for fruitful collaborations and significant investments. Girish D Kulkarni, Country Managing Director of Nidec Motion & Energy India, expressed gratitude for the visit, highlighting the potential for long-term collaboration between Nidec and Karnataka.
