Two Australian and three Indonesian nationals remarkably survived a helicopter crash in Bali, attributed to entanglement in a kite string, officials disclosed on Friday.
The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter, operated by PT. Whitesky Aviation, crashed in Pecatu village, situated in Bali's southern coastal region, according to a statement from Indonesia's transportation ministry.
Images disseminated by Indonesia's Search and Rescue Agency depicted the helicopter on a limestone cliff in a severely damaged state, with five people on board, including the crew and passengers.
"All victims could be evacuated safely," read a statement from the Bali rescue agency on Friday. Three of the survivors have been taken to a hospital for additional medical attention.
Indonesia, an archipelago of approximately 270 million, has experienced multiple transportation disasters in recent years, including plane crashes and ferry accidents.
Authorities announced that a team has been dispatched to the crash site to conduct a thorough investigation.
