The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the extension of check-in facilities for international passengers at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations on the Airport Express Line.

Initially available only for domestic passengers, this 'check-in and baggage-drop' service now includes international travelers flying with Air India and Vistara Airlines, according to a DMRC statement.

"We invite more airlines to adopt this facility to further benefit travelers," the statement added.

This initiative, in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Air India, and Vistara Airlines, aims to streamline travel procedures for international flights departing from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).

The check-in counters, which became operational in the first week of June, allow passengers to check in their luggage at these metro stations, from where their baggage will be securely transported to the aircraft using advanced automated systems.

The service is available daily for Air India passengers from 6 am to 9 pm at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations, and for Vistara Airlines passengers from 6 am to 8 pm at New Delhi station.

International passengers can check in between four and three hours before departure, while domestic passengers can check in anytime between 12 and two hours before their flight, the DMRC said.

At the New Delhi Metro Station, check-in counters are located at the concourse level, while at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, they are situated adjacent to the VFS Global Office at the concourse level.
