The conference is a collaborative effort between the Indian government and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) APAC.

Addressing the curtain raiser event, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu highlighted India's significant advancements in the sector, with annual passenger traffic projected to reach 250 million.

Emphasizing sustainability, he noted that efforts would focus on making aviation more accessible and affordable.

With participation from countries like Australia, Singapore, the US, and the UK, the conference marks a significant gathering for the region's aviation sector

The inaugural edition of the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference took place in Beijing in 2018.

At the curtain raiser, DGCA chief Vikram Dev Dutt stated that the Asia Pacific region accounted for more than 33% of global flight departures in 2023.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol stressed the vast potential of the aviation sector in the Asia Pacific and India.

Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam echoed these sentiments, noting the sector's upward trajectory.

According to the conference website, India's aviation sector has expanded rapidly, doubling its number of aircraft over the last decade and significantly increasing the number of airports from 74 to 157.
