Commuters in Delhi experienced significant disruptions on Monday as waterlogged roads made travel challenging. The Delhi Police quickly issued traffic advisories, suggesting diversions from Chaudhary Fateh Singh Marg to alternate routes via Khyber Pass, Majnu ka Tila, and the Wazirabad flyover.
Though the affected stretch under construction was eventually cleared, traffic issues on New Rohtak road continued due to waterlogging. The Delhi Traffic Police warned that traffic on Hauz Khas Village Road would be impacted from 4 pm to 8 pm due to the Jagannath Yatra. The Delhi Public Works Department received numerous calls about waterlogging and fallen trees.
Police reported water had been pumped out of the affected areas, but commuters shared their frustrations on social media, citing heavy traffic near Bhalswa Dairy, Jwalapuri, Dhaula Kuan, and the New Delhi railway station. Heavy congestion was also noted on National Highway 8 and near the Jhandewalan metro station.
