An office building's canopy partially collapsed onto a covered area at the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in south Mumbai on Friday evening, officials reported.
No passengers were injured in the incident, which occurred around 5:45 PM, confirmed a spokesperson for the Central Railway.
"A portion of the building's canopy fell on the covered area at the CSMT," the spokesperson stated.
Another railway official noted that the canopy belonged to the traffic accounts' office building, strategically positioned between the main line and suburban line concourse. Debris from the collapse caused minor damage to the roofing. CSMT remains one of Mumbai's most frequented railway stations, serving lakhs of daily commuters.
