Governor Approves Rs 80000 Crore Wainganga-Nalganga River Linking Project

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Thursday that Governor Ramesh Bais has granted in-principle approval for the Rs 80000 crore Wainganga-Nalganga river linking project.
Fadnavis mentioned that he met Governor Bais on July 9 to request an urgent approval for the project. The Governor has now granted the in-principle nod, which signifies a major step forward for the ambitious project.
The endeavor aims to link the Wainganga river, originating from Bhandara, with the Nalganga river in Buldhana through a 550-kilometer canal, thereby irrigating 3.71 lakh hectares of land across six districts in Vidarbha, drastically improving the region's agricultural prospects.
