The direct helicopter service from Jammu to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple commenced on Tuesday, providing a swift option for pilgrims aiming to complete 'darshan' at the sacred shrine within a single day, officials confirmed.
In addition to the existing helicopter service between Katra and Sanjhi Chhat, the new route offers two packages: Rs 35,000 per passenger for a same-day return and Rs 60,000 per person for a next-day return. Pilgrims now have the option of departing from Jammu and landing directly at the Panchi helipad.
'This new service is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance facilities for pilgrims,' stated Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Feedback from this pilot operation will determine the future expansion of the service.
