Both drivers, along with three others, were declared dead at the scene while another succumbed en route to the hospital. Minister Kollu Ravindra later visited the injured, announcing that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has earmarked Rs 5 lakh for each of the deceased's kin.
