In the aftermath of a tragic leopard attack that took a 13-year-old girl's life in Bhilangana, authorities have shut down local schools as a safety measure. Forest department teams are actively searching for the predator, using drone technology and other resources, though it remains elusive.

The girl, named Sakshi, was attacked by a leopard lying in wait while she played near her home in Kot Maher village. Despite neighbors' attempts to rescue her with loud noises, the leopard managed to drag her a significant distance before disappearing into the forest.

Efforts to capture the dangerous animal have intensified, with forest officials camping in the area and Tehri District Magistrate Mayur Dixit instituting a school shutdown for safety. Compensation has been provided to the victims' families, and additional security measures like hiring vehicles for student transportation are in place.
