U.S. Unveils $800 Million Aid for Ukraine Drone Production

The United States is preparing to provide an $800 million aid package aimed at boosting the production of Ukrainian drones, as disclosed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Monday.

In his daily video briefing, President Zelenskiy expressed gratitude for the package, emphasizing its importance in ensuring Ukraine's ability to uphold its sovereignty in the face of global political threats. The news follows a recently announced $400 million arms package during U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's visit to Kyiv.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, Ukraine has intensified its efforts to increase domestic weapons production, with a significant focus on drones. Zelenskiy stated that Ukraine could potentially produce four million drones each year and has already secured contracts to produce 1.5 million drones this year alone.
