Cameroon's 91-year-old president, Paul Biya, has made a public return after a 42-day absence, quelling rumors about his health. The chartered flight carrying Biya and his wife, Chantal, landed at Nsimalen International Airport in Yaounde, where he was met by Secretary-General Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh.

Despite his return, Biya did not address the public. Instead, he waved at supporters as his motorcade departed. His prolonged disappearance prompted speculation over his well-being, forcing authorities to release statements assuring the nation of the president's good health.

Cameroon has since banned discussions about his health, labeling it a national security issue. Thousands of supporters from the ruling party lined the streets, displaying fabrics bearing Biya's image, and welcoming their leader with banners expressing wishes for his long life.
