Nitin Gadkari Reviews NH Projects in North Eastern States, Emphasizes Expedited Development

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, conducted a comprehensive review of the National Highway projects in the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, and Nagaland at a high-level meeting in Delhi today. The meeting was attended by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Sh. Kiren Rijiju, Chief Ministers Sh. Pema Khandu (Arunachal Pradesh), Sh. N Biren Singh (Manipur), and Dr. Manik Saha (Tripura), along with Union Ministers of State for Road Transport and Highways Sh. Ajay Tamta and Sh. Harsh Malhotra. Senior ministry officials also participated in the discussions.

The focus of the meeting was on expediting the progress of key highway projects in these states, ensuring timely completion to boost regional connectivity and drive economic growth in the North Eastern region.

Arunachal Pradesh: Revolutionizing Highway Infrastructure

Gadkari reviewed 15 ongoing National Highway projects covering 423 km in Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized the importance of timely completion of these critical infrastructure projects to enhance mobility and support economic growth. Gadkari highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the highways in Arunachal Pradesh are being transformed with advanced infrastructure and sustainable mobility solutions.

Manipur: Accelerating Development

In the case of Manipur, Gadkari reviewed 38 National Highway projects spanning 808 km. He stressed the need to accelerate the development of these infrastructure projects to improve connectivity and fuel economic growth. Gadkari underscored that the cutting-edge highway infrastructure in Manipur is poised to unlock new opportunities for prosperity and seamless mobility under the guidance of PM Modi.

Tripura: Fast-tracking Sustainable Development

For Tripura, Gadkari assessed 16 ongoing National Highway projects covering 324 km. The focus in Tripura was on fast-tracking the development of highway infrastructure in a sustainable and cost-effective manner. The improvements in connectivity are expected to boost the local economy and further integrate the North-East region into the national growth framework.
