Modi promised 'Make in India, Start-up and Stand-up India' but delivered Pakode: Rahul Gandhi

'In 2014, Modi had promised two crore jobs. Did any of you get a job?" Rahul asked to the cowed. They all say 'no'. "What Modi did for the people of India in five years? He first said Make in India then Startup India then Stand-up India and finally pakode. Now he is frying pakode," said Rahul Gandhi in a political rally in Sirsa Lok Sabha of Haryana on Friday.

"In 2014, Modi had promised to deposit Rs 15 lakhs in the bank account of every person. Did any of you receive Rs 15 lakh?" Rahul asked to the gathering. They replied 'No'. In a highly convincing pitch the Congress president alleged that through various schemes, Modi virtually pick-pocketed farmers, youths and the hard-working people. He then deposited the collected money in the accounts of thieves like Anil Ambani and 15 others. The crowd served a thunderous applauded to his allegations and shouted the slogan 'Chowkidar Chor Hai'. As Modi pick-pocketed the farmers, youths and service class they all became poor and unable to purchase goods from the market. This lead to a decrease in the sale of commodities at shops. The shops were forced to shut down that lead to the closure of factories and finally a huge loss of jobs. The people were unemployed.

The Nyay Scheme, claimed Rahul, will revitalise the industries and create huge jobs. "I outreached to some financial experts and 'think tanks' and told them that Congress party also wants to give money. Modi gave money to 15 people but Congress will give money to 25 crore people of 5 crore poor families. We have decided to give Rs 72,000 per annum means Rs 6,000 per month means Rs 3.6 lakhs in five years. As the money will go in the hands of people, they will purchase from shops, this will lead to more sale, more production, more industries and more jobs. The industrialists will call youths for the job. They will say you please come for jobs Modi had gone, this is the Nyay Scheme," said Rahul Gandhi explaining Congress' promise of universal minimum income in very simple terms.

The Congress president also raised the issue of controversial Rafale deal. "People are saying Chowkidar Chor Hai. PM Modi needs to explain why he asked the President of France to give Rafale deal to Anil Ambani. "You speak about Rajiv Gandhi as much as you can. You also talk about me but need you to explain to the people of India, what you did in Rafale deal and what not? Why you gave Rs 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani? Anil Ambani is the person who has nothing to do in aeronautics business. In a recent case, his brother saved him from jail but Modi gave him the contract of Rafale," alleged Rahul Gandhi. Establishing direct connect with the gathering, the Congress president said as it is air-base and HAL unit in Sirsa, we wanted the Rafale to be made here in Sirsa. "If Rafale was made in Sirsa, it had provided jobs to local youths but Modi decided to purchase it in Rs 1600 crore per plane from France. He sold the interests of Indian youths. Rafale is not just a plane, its fighter jet for the security of India. The technology involves aeronautical engineering, missile, radar technology and much more. Modi government has lost a golden opportunity and pushed the country several years back," said Rahul.

"Modi caused lakhs of crore rupees' loss to India in Rafale deal. Through this contract, India could have reached on the first position in weapon's technology and aeronautics if it was manufactured in HAL factory," said Rahul Gandhi. The Congress president also alleged that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is engaged in divisive politics and creating confront between castes, religions, and regions in each and every state of India including Haryana, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.

Sirsa has become a prestigious political battle for Congress as Haryana State Congress President Dr Ashok Tanwar is contesting from this seat. Tanwar, who was MP from Sirsa in 2009, demanded one lakh crore investment for Sirsa from Rahul Gandhi if voted to power.
