Oppo Reno 2 series with QuadCam all set to launch on August 28 in India

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is all set to launch Reno 2 series in India on August 28 and later in China. According to multiple reports, the Chinese phone maker is planning to launch three models under the Reno 2 series, namely: Oppo Reno 2, Oppo Reno 2Z and the Oppo Reno 2F.

Oppo Reno 2
Display
The Oppo Reno 2 will boast a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED notch-less display with a 2400×1080-pixel resolution, 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut, 500nits brightness, and TUV Rheinland certification for eye protection. The phone will also come with Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the display and Gorilla Glass 5 on the back.
Processor and OS
As already confirmed by Oppo VP Brian Shen, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset for enhanced gaming and graphics experience, coupled with 8G of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
Camera
On the imaging front, the Oppo Reno 2 will house a 16-megapixel Shark Fin Rising selfie camera and quad-camera setup with 5x Hybrid Zoom, Ultra Steady Mode to capture exceptionally clear and smooth video, Ultra Dark Mode and up to 20x Digital Zoom on the back. The Quadcam setup includes a 48-megapixel primary lens, 13-megapixel telephoto lens, 8-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens with 116-degree field-of-view and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone will run on ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie.
Other features
The Oppo Reno 2 will pack a 4,000mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging performance while avoiding overheating issue. Additional features include Game Boost 3.0 technology for a more fluid gaming experience, Game Assistant for a personalized gaming experience, Link Boost, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Chinese e-commerce platform JD has already listed the product for pre-booking, which shows the phone will be available in three color options. However, the retailer has not specified any other information about the upcoming smartphone.
Oppo Reno 2F
The Oppo Reno 2F will reportedly boast a 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and will be powered by MediaTek Helio P70 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will also house a rear quad-camera setup that includes 48-megapixel primary lens, 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a pair of 2-megapixel lenses. It will feature a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera, aligned at the center of the smartphone. Camera features include 10x Digital zoom and Ultra-Night mode 2.0 for low-light photography.
Oppo Reno 2Z
The Oppo Reno 2Z will reportedly feature a 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and will be powered by MediaTek Helio P90 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The phone will house a rear quad-camera setup that includes 48-megapixel primary lens, 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lends and a pair of 2-megapixel lenses for portrait photography. It will also feature a central rising 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. Camera features include 10x Digital zoom, Ultra Dark Mode for ultra-clear night shots and EIS for video stabilization.
In terms of market share and trust, Oppo is among the top five smartphone brands in India and with the India first launch strategy for the Reno 2 series smartphones, the company is planning to ramp up its smartphone production in India.
