GE Aerospace Infuses Rs 100 Crore into Pune Facility to Boost Production and Skill Development

GE Aerospace is committing Rs 100 crore to enhance its Pune manufacturing facility, bringing its total investment to Rs 510 crore over three years. The funds will be used to upgrade infrastructure, introduce new welding technologies, and support skill development, reinforcing GE's commitment to India's aerospace industry.

In a significant move to strengthen its presence in India, GE Aerospace will invest Rs 100 crore in its Pune manufacturing facility. This latest investment, announced on Monday, is aimed at advancing infrastructure and production capabilities to meet global demand for high-quality aircraft engine components.

The Pune facility, instrumental in manufacturing critical components for commercial aircraft engines, will see enhancements in welding technologies, precision tools, and inspection equipment. With this addition, GE Aerospace's total investment in the facility reaches Rs 510 crore over three years, significantly bolstering its production and skill development resources.

Vishwajit Singh, Managing Director of the GE Aerospace Pune facility, emphasized the focus on skill development, noting the impact on local apprenticeships and job creation. The facility's upgrades will support production for GE's various engine programs, including the GE90 and CFM's LEAP engines, solidifying India's role in the global aerospace supply chain.
