Amazon's cloud regions in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have been compromised amid ongoing Middle Eastern conflict, affecting their ability to support customer applications, the company announced on Thursday.
The tech giant's subsidiary, Amazon Web Services, has paused billing operations while efforts to restore normal operations continue, a task projected to span several months. Amazon has not confirmed if the damage was caused by a drone attack or nearby strikes, and the full extent of the devastation remains unclear.
An earlier report by Reuters revealed that drone activity had previously disrupted Amazon's Bahrain cloud region last month.
