The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has introduced two cutting-edge armoured platforms, poised to address the evolving operational needs of India's armed forces. Developed at the DRDO's Vehicles Research & Development Establishment, these platforms were unveiled by DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat.
The platforms integrate an indigenously designed 30 mm crewless turret and a 7.62 mm PKT gun, with the capability to launch Anti-Tank Guided Missiles, tailored for versatility in multiple roles. The indigenous content stands at 65%, with ambitions to increase this to 90%, enhancing the nation's self-reliance in defense technology.
Manufactured in partnership with TATA Advanced Systems Limited and Bharat Forge Limited, supported by numerous MSMEs, these platforms signify a robust, growing defense ecosystem. This collaboration not only strengthens India's defense capabilities but also nurtures the industry's broader innovation landscape.
