Amazon has announced a significant reduction of about 14,000 corporate positions as part of its strategy to enhance spending on artificial intelligence initiatives.
The decision marks a continued effort by Amazon to streamline operations by reducing bureaucratic layers and reallocating resources towards major investment areas that matter most to current and future customers, according to Senior Vice President Beth Galetti.
CEO Andy Jassy's prior memo highlighted the importance of this shift. Employees affected by the job cuts will be informed on Tuesday.
