In a bid to position India at the forefront of technological development, Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma introduced a resolution on Friday, advocating for the creation of a Council for Future Affairs (CFA) in the Upper House.
This proposed national body aims to lead India's advancement in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing. According to Sharma's office, the CFA would unify research, industrial development, and policy strategy, pushing India to not just participate but lead in shaping the future global tech landscape.
Inspired by Haryana's newly announced 'Department of Future,' Sharma emphasized that under Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's leadership, the state has become a national model for strategic foresight in governance. The proposal garnered cross-party support, highlighting a consensus on proactively addressing technological disruptions.
