Innovative Dialogue: Defence Ministry Engages with Start-Ups and MSMEs
Defence ministry officials engaged with representatives from over 50 start-ups and MSMEs to discuss challenges and opportunities. Led by Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, these sessions focused on innovation in critical technologies and aimed to enhance industry collaboration and policy development for defence and civil applications.

In an effort to propel innovation, senior officials from the defence ministry engaged in intensive discussions with leaders from over 50 start-ups and MSMEs. The meetings focused on addressing key challenges and identifying opportunities to accelerate innovation.
Held under the chairmanship of Secretary Sanjeev Kumar at the South Block in New Delhi, the discussions occurred on March 24 and 25. A significant number of participating entities are associated with Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX), highlighting the ministry's commitment to fostering technological growth.
Explorations into critical emerging technologies like space and quantum technologies, electronic warfare, drones, AI, and machine learning were pivotal. These sessions are expected to refine policies and bolster the participation of start-ups in deep tech sectors, enhancing application in both civil and defence domains.
