izmo Microsystems, a division of izmo Ltd., has joined forces as the exclusive industry partner with IIT Madras in a pioneering project at the Centre for Programmable Photonic Integrated Circuits and Systems. The program is spearheaded by Prof. Bijoy Das and aims at innovative solutions in photonic computing.

The research center, established in January 2021 within IIT Madras's Electrical Engineering Department, received significant financial support from the Indian government. This backing is a testament to the 14 years of R&D in silicon photonics by Prof. Das's team, with izmo Microsystems contributing substantial support.

The collaboration targets advanced photonic processor core development via Silicon Photonics Technology. By leveraging System-in-Package solutions, izmo Microsystems plays a crucial role in evolving India's photonics landscape, aligning with global trends towards semiconductor advancements.
