Italy's prominent aerospace and defense firm, Leonardo, has announced its role in providing communication systems for the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, according to a Tuesday statement from the company and the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation. The partnership is set to facilitate event and operation coordination across the expansive venues in northern Italy.
Leonardo CEO Roberto Cingolani emphasized the initiative's impact on enhancing Italy's international stature and promoting sports values. Additionally, the organisers confirmed a commercial partnership with TechnoAlpin for supplying state-of-the-art snow-making machines, following their involvement in the previous Winter Olympics in Beijing.
As Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo prepare to co-host the Games in February, and the Paralympics in March 2026, this collaboration with multiple locations is poised to spotlight Italy's technological innovation and support of global sporting events. TechnoAlpin CEO Erich Gummerer underscored the showcase of their technological expertise and commitment.
