Ticketmaster is facing allegations of having misled Oasis fans into buying overpriced tickets last year due to unclear labeling and dynamic pricing strategies. The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has urged the ticket giant to reform its practices to better inform customers after thousands found inflated prices during online purchasing for the 2025 reunion shows.

According to interim senior director of consumer protection at the CMA, Hayley Fletcher, fans may have been led into purchasing tickets they believed offered more than they received. The watchdog is concerned Ticketmaster could have breached consumer laws, although the CMA currently lacks the power to enforce fines, relying instead on court action.

The CMA's September investigation scrutinized possible 'unfair commercial practices' and highlighted two key issues: overpriced 'platinum' tickets lacking additional benefits and a lack of upfront information on ticket categories and prices. While Ticketmaster has made some changes since, further improvements are expected to ensure informed consumer choices. The controversy has prompted political response with Prime Minister Keir Starmer vowing to tackle ticket overpricing.
