Odisha Set to Launch Semiconductor Production by December
The Odisha government anticipates commencing the local production of semiconductors by December. This initiative, announced by State Electronics and IT Minister Mukesh Mahaling, includes collaborations with Singapore-based firms and new infrastructure developments like Software Technology Parks and a Cable Landing Station in Puri.

Odisha is gearing up to revolutionize its tech industry with local semiconductor production expected to begin by the end of December. This was revealed by State Electronics and IT Minister Mukesh Mahaling during an Assembly session on Monday.
The government has allocated 20,000 square feet to RIR Power Electronics for setting up the semiconductor unit at EMC Park, Infovalley, Bhubaneswar. Collaborations with Singapore-based firms are underway to bolster the semiconductor ecosystem, Mahaling added.
Efforts to enhance infrastructure include an Rs 100 crore budget for eight new Software Technology Parks of India (STPIs) and plans for a Cable Landing Station in Puri. A data centre is also planned for Keonjhar and Koraput districts, further positioning Odisha as a technological hub.
