Bridging Divides: US-China Cooperation on AI
Stephen Orlins, NCUSCR president, emphasizes the need for US-China cooperation in artificial intelligence to avoid duplicative efforts. AI has been a key friction point as the US imposes sanctions on China's AI and chip sectors to prevent military-related technological development.

In a call for collaboration, the president of the National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR), Stephen Orlins, stressed the importance of cooperation between China and the United States in the field of artificial intelligence. He argued against redundant efforts in this critical area.
Orlins made these comments during the annual China Development Forum in Beijing, which were later shared via a video clip by the Chinese central bank-owned Financial News. The AI sector has become a contentious battleground, with recent US sanctions aimed at hindering China's progress in developing potentially military-aligned technologies.
The National Committee on United States-China Relations, a non-profit advisory organization, continues to advocate for constructive dialogue and strategic collaboration amidst growing tensions between the two global powers.
