The SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence entity, intensified its criticism of the British government on Monday, accusing London of seeing Russian-U.S. discussions about Ukraine as a threat to its own national interests.
This accusation comes amid ongoing tensions between Moscow and London, culminating earlier on the same day with the expulsion of two British diplomats by Russia. These diplomats were accused by the Russian government of engaging in intelligence activities.
The move marks the latest in a series of diplomatic spats between the two nations, with Moscow and London frequently at odds over their respective roles in global and regional conflicts. The expulsion and accusations could further strain an already tense bilateral relationship.
