UK Trade Delegation to Explore Tech Opportunities in Kolkata

A UK trade delegation, focused on the technology sector, is set to visit Kolkata for the first time. Comprising 17 leading organisations in AI and semiconductors, the delegation aims to strengthen tech partnerships with Indian stakeholders through discussions and networking events.

A trade delegation from the UK, dedicated to the technology sector, is scheduled to visit Kolkata on November 18-19, marking its debut appearance in the city, according to a statement by the British Deputy High Commission on Friday.

Composed of 17 leading UK organisations specializing in Artificial Intelligence and semiconductors, this delegation represents the forefront of technological innovation. This visit highlights the evolving relationship between the UK and India in the tech domain, with a particular focus on opportunities in East and Northeast India, stated British Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Fleming.

The delegation will engage with state governments and industry leaders to foster partnerships, with activities including roundtable discussions, B2B meetings, and networking sessions. Hosted by the British Deputy High Commission Kolkata in collaboration with NASSCOM and Asterix Innovations, these events aim to identify opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and investment in AI and semiconductor sectors.
