JSW Defence has entered into a strategic partnership with US-based Shield AI to indigenize and produce the 'V-BAT' Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) in India. This alliance is set to boost India's defense capabilities with world-class UAS technology.

JSW Group plans to invest approximately USD 90 million over the next two years, including USD 65 million within the first year, to build a compliance program, manufacturing facility, and workforce training. This endeavor aims to establish a local supply chain for V-BAT production in India, catering to both Indian and global demands.

The V-BAT, known for its vertical take-off capability and endurance, is currently employed by armed forces like the United States' Marine Expeditionary Units. The initiative aligns with JSW Group's commitment to integrating mission-critical technologies in India's defense sector.
