In a significant technological advancement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has introduced a mobile application designed to facilitate the registration of births and deaths with ease, supporting the country's Digital India initiative. The app, created by the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, promises to substantially cut down registration times.

Shah highlighted the app's capabilities to allow citizens to register events from any location, at any time, in the official language of their respective states, as part of PM Modi's vision to integrate technology with governance. Additionally, Shah unveiled a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Janganana Bhawan.

The unveiling of the statue and the launch of the app coincide with preparations to celebrate Patel's birth anniversary. Historically recognized on October 31, this year marks a modified schedule due to Deepawali. Sardar Patel played a pivotal role in unifying India, an effort commemorated annually with National Unity Day since 2014.
