Cyber security experts have voiced concerns over the escalating number of cyber attacks in India, underscoring the need for stronger defense mechanisms. This was revealed during the launch of a report titled 'The Invisible Hand' by PRAHAR, an NGO dedicated to addressing public domain issues.
PRAHAR's projections indicate a staggering rise in cyber attacks, estimating nearly one trillion annual attacks by 2033. By 2047, the number could soar to 17 trillion attacks, necessitating a large-scale cyber defense apparatus to protect the nation.
Experts like Abhay Mishra of PRAHAR and former IPS officer Muktesh Chander called for community involvement and awareness to combat both traditional and sophisticated cyber threats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also emphasized awareness as a key measure against digital crimes in his recent 'Mann ki Baat' address.
