North Korea Bolsters Russia's War Effort: 3,000 Troops Deployed
North Korea has reportedly sent 3,000 troops to Russia to support its war in Ukraine, doubling previous estimates. The deployment, promised to reach a total of 10,000 by December, is denied by both Moscow and Pyongyang despite assertions by Ukraine and calls for action by allied nations.
In a recent development, North Korea has allegedly deployed 3,000 troops to Russia as part of its support for the ongoing conflict against Ukraine, according to South Korean lawmakers briefed by the national intelligence agency. This number is twice as much as previous estimates.
While Pyongyang had committed to sending 10,000 troops by December, both Russia and North Korea have denied these reports, echoed by Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has urged allies to address evidence of North Korean involvement.
A U.S. diplomat highlighted the situation as potentially "dangerous and highly concerning," with Washington in discussions with allies about the ramifications of North Korean participation in the conflict.
