A devastating drone strike by Russia claimed three lives, including a child's, in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy. The attack targeted residential zones and vital infrastructure, according to head of staff Ihor Kalchenko via Telegram.
Images shared depicted smoking ruins and damaged structures. The Ukrainian military reported that air defense systems intercepted 42 of the 60 drones launched. An additional 10 were considered 'locationally lost.'
In a separate incident, a woman suffered injuries when a Russian drone targeted a bus stop in Kherson. Despite Russia's denial of assaulting civilians, such attacks have continually hit areas beyond the frontline since the conflict's full-scale inception in February 2022.
