India Takes Center Stage at Global Telecom Events

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate two significant global events, the International Telecommunication Union-World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly (WTSA) 2024 and the India Mobile Congress, on Tuesday at Bharat Mandapam. This is the first time the WTSA is being hosted in India and the Asia-Pacific region.
The WTSA, a pivotal conference for the standardisation activities of the United Nations' digital technologies agency, the ITU, occurs every four years. The assembly will convene industry leaders, policymakers, and tech experts from over 190 countries to discuss future standards for critical next-gen technologies such as 6G, AI, IoT, and cybersecurity.
In tandem, the eighth edition of the India Mobile Congress will spotlight India's innovation ecosystem, featuring showcases of 5G and 6G use-cases, cloud computing, IoT, and more. With over 400 exhibitors and 900 startups participating, the congress is set to underline India's growing influence in global technological advancements.
