Digi Yatra, an initiative founded on Facial Recognition Technology (FRT), is set to revolutionize the passenger experience by enabling contactless, seamless airport check-point movement in multiple languages, a senior official disclosed.

Currently operational at 24 airports, the facility will extend to 4-5 additional airports in the coming months. A pilot project to connect two countries using Digi Yatra is scheduled for June next year, announced Digi Yatra Foundation CEO Suresh Khadakbhavi at the CAPA India Digital Aviation Summit held in the national capital.

Amidst its growing adoption, concerns over passenger data privacy remain a topic of scrutiny. To address this, a campaign will be initiated to educate passengers. The foundation, introduced in December 2022 and backed by major airport authorities, continues to spearhead this seamless travel experience.
