Universal Robots, the Danish company renowned for its collaborative robots (cobots), has significantly increased the payload capacity on its high-payload UR20 and UR30 cobots. This new update allows customers to lift up to 25 and 35 kilograms respectively, without any additional cost, impacting productivity positively, especially in palletizing operations.

''At Universal Robots, we continually test and develop our products. When we unlock new features, we want to provide immediate access to our partners and customers,'' said Tero Tolonen, Chief Product Officer. ''This update allows customers to enhance productivity without raising costs and showcases our commitment to innovation benefiting our customers' bottom lines.'' The upgraded payload can be enabled by a straightforward PolyScope software update to version 5.19 or later. Future shipments of the UR20 and UR30 models will have this software pre-installed.

This week, a UR20 palletizing application utilizing the increased payload was demonstrated for the first time at the China International Industry Fair in Shanghai. Interested individuals can view demo pictures in the image collection.
