IT major Tech Mahindra has signed a pact with New Zealand's University of Auckland (UoA) to propel research and innovation in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum computing.

This partnership aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia, improving the employability of UoA graduates, according to a Tech Mahindra statement.

'This MoU will accelerate research and innovation in AI, ML, and quantum computing across various sectors, including healthcare, banking, financial services, and insurance, along with the government sector,' the statement said.

Moreover, the collaboration will introduce the benefits of Generative AI to indigenous communities and offer internships at Tech Mahindra, allowing candidates to learn about AI, ML, and other emerging technologies.

'India has led global IT innovation for the past three decades, and I believe it will also spearhead the AI revolution. This agreement allows our students to confront real-world challenges and gain hands-on experience from skilled Tech Mahindra professionals,' said Partha Roop, Professor and Associate Dean International at UoA's Faculty of Engineering.
