In a historic collaboration, India and the US are set to establish 'Shakti,' India's first-ever national security semiconductor fabrication plant. The ambitious joint project, seen as a watershed moment, was announced following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden in Wilmington.

The fabrication plant will focus on producing advanced semiconductors for military, telecommunications, and green energy applications. Enabled by the India Semiconductor Mission and a strategic tech partnership between Bharat Semi, 3rdiTech, and the US Space Force, 'Shakti' aims to boost India's semiconductor manufacturing capacity.

This unprecedented cooperation echoes the significance of the civil nuclear deal and marks a new chapter in the India-US relationship. The initiative also includes efforts to secure resilient supply chains for the automotive industry and expand 5G telecommunications capabilities.
