A landmark Future Warfare course, conceived by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, is poised to kick off in New Delhi from September 23 to 27. The defence ministry announced on Sunday that the course will shed light on how emerging technologies such as AI and hypersonics will shape future combat scenarios.
This course, a pioneering initiative, seeks to foster a unified and technology-savvy defence force capable of safeguarding national interests in an increasingly volatile environment, the ministry stated. Aimed at officers ranging from the rank of Major to Major General, and their equivalents in other services, the course will cover both operational and technological facets of modern warfare.
Slated to be the first of its kind, the tri-services 'Future Warfare' course, under the aegis of Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, focuses on the dynamic nature of future wars, addressing both kinetic and non-kinetic, cyber, space, and electromagnetic spectrum warfare. The ministry indicated that this inaugural course will set the stage for subsequent, more extensive sessions designed to make the armed forces future-ready.
