Vodafone Idea Awards $3.6 Billion Contracts for 4G and 5G Network Expansion
Vodafone Idea has allocated contracts worth about Rs 30,000 crore to Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung for 4G and 5G network equipment over the next three years. This marks the beginning of their three-year capital expenditure plan worth around USD 6.6 billion, focused on expanding 4G coverage and launching 5G.

Vodafone Idea on Sunday disclosed that it has signed contracts valued at approximately Rs 30,000 crore with Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung to provide 4G and 5G network equipment over the next three years.
This agreement is a crucial part of Vodafone Idea's extensive three-year capital expenditure plan, which totals about USD 6.6 billion or Rs 55,000 crore. The company's investment aims to increase its 4G population coverage from 1.03 billion to 1.2 billion, introduce 5G in key markets, and expand capacity in alignment with data growth.
The equipment deliveries under these extensive contracts are set to commence in the next quarter, prioritizing the expansion of 4G services to cover 1.2 billion Indians.
