Drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace is gearing up to set up a state-of-the-art Defence Drone facility in Chennai, furthering the 'Make in India' initiative. This was discussed during a meeting between Garuda Aerospace's Agnishwer Jayaprakash and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.
The new facility will include advanced drone design, manufacturing, and testing capabilities advised by HAL and BEML. It will focus on indigenous development and local manufacturing of critical components like drone motors, batteries, and transmitters. The company aims to develop various types of drones, including ISR, swarm, tethered, and underwater drones.
Founder-CEO Agnishwer Jayaprakash emphasized the importance of defence drone technology and detailed partnerships with international firms, receiving strong backing from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for expanding Garuda's operations in pursuit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
