The Kremlin issued a stark warning on Wednesday, stating that the attack on Lebanese group Hezbollah using exploding pagers could potentially trigger a wider regional conflict. The perpetrators of Tuesday's attack should be identified immediately, according to Kremlin sources.

In a devastating incident on Tuesday, thousands of pagers exploded across Lebanon, causing nine fatalities and injuring almost 3,000 individuals. The wounded included Hezbollah fighters and Iran's envoy to Beirut.

A senior Lebanese security source, along with another insider, informed Reuters that Israel's Mossad spy agency had planted explosives inside 5,000 pagers imported by Hezbollah months before the incident. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized the need to establish the exact causes and those responsible for the attack.
