Explosive Pagers Scandal: Taiwanese Firm's Brand Misused in Lebanon Detonations

A scandal has emerged involving explosive devices in Lebanon, as pagers with the brand of Taiwanese company Gold Apollo were revealed to be involved in deadly detonations. The events led to the death of nine people and injuries to nearly 3,000 others.

Though the brand was associated with Gold Apollo, the company clarified it had only licensed its brand to Budapest-based BAC Consulting, which managed the design and manufacturing. According to authorities, the bombs inside the pagers were planted by Israel's Mossad spy agency.

Gold Apollo aims to distance itself from the disastrous incident by pursuing legal action against BAC. The Taiwanese firm maintains it had no involvement in the devices' production and is committed to its reputation and responsibility.
