In a significant move for India's burgeoning electric vehicle sector, Epsilon Advanced Materials has unveiled plans to set up a Rs 9,000-crore anode manufacturing facility in Karnataka.
The plant is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 90,000 tonnes by 2031, with the initial phase requiring an investment of Rs 4,000 crore by the fourth quarter of 2026, according to Epsilon Group Managing Director Vikram Handa.
Due to the increasing demand for electric vehicles, the new facility aims to act as a reliable supplier of anode and cathode materials for Indian and global cell manufacturing companies. The project will be funded by customer advances, debt, and project financing.
