North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast on Thursday morning, marking the country's first such activity in over two months, according to South Korea's military.
Japan's Coast Guard confirmed a projectile, believed to be a ballistic missile from North Korea, had fallen into the sea. No damage was reported, Japan's Kyodo news agency stated, citing a government source.
Previously, North Korea launched a missile on July 1, claiming it tested a new tactical ballistic missile. Lately, the nation has also been sending balloons carrying trash into South Korea as a counter-campaign to anti-Pyongyang leaflets flown by South Korean activists.
