Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU, has secured a significant order worth Rs 850 crore from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL). This contract is for the supply of an indigenous Multi-Function Radar in X Band.

According to a press release, the radar was designed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL. It is capable of detecting, acquiring, and tracking airborne targets to provide protection for naval ships.

T D Nandakumar, General Manager (ADSN) of BEL, received the order from Sreejith, Director (Operations) of CSL, in presence of K V Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing) of BEL, V J Jose, Director (Finance) of CSL, and Prabha Goyal, Executive Director (National Marketing) of BEL.
